Family Empowerment Community-Based Organization
Family Empowerment Community-Based Organization (F.E.C.B.O) is registered with the office of the District Gender & Social Development Officer (DGSDO) as a self-help Group/Project. It was established in 2009 to support less fortunate people, particularly those living with HIV/ AIDS. By then, the Director Simon Thiongo was serving with Moffat Bible College as an HIV/AIDS advocate.
Through his involvement with those affected, he realized the extent of the effects on the community. Many of these individuals were unable to secure jobs in die The community’s needs1 inspired Rev. Simon to establish a rabbit project to empower The Rabbits provided not only food but also generated income for their upkeep.
Our mission
Empowering Families to eradicate poverty by creating sustainable income opportunities.
Our vision
Using Farming as a tool to share the gospel and support the community to be self-sustainable
Our Objectives
- To share the love of Christ.
- To empower the community and support them to be self-sustaining.
- To train the community to do beneficial farming.
The Garden Church
Most Churches’ vision is to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:16-20) and glorify God in everything (1 Corinthians 10:31). Yet the Church’s involvement in programs that would help the physical needs is minimal. The Great Commission is not propositional evangelism; instead, it was supposed to mean following everything Jesus taught. Jesus fed his followers spiritually and physically. Therefore, the Great Commission passage should help us follow Jesus’s ministry model. The Good News to a needy person might be food and clothing.

Beneficiaries and their Testimonies
Several people have benefited from our program. Some people hardly could get two meals a day, but after joining our program, their lives have changed. They not only can feed their families but also have something they can sell. To those who adhered to our rabbit project, they graduated from rabbits to keeping cows. Others have learned how to grow drought-resistant crops, and they are doing tremendously well.
Mr. John is a happy man. He benefited from our barber training Program. Today, he is a proud father of three, and he is grateful that he can feed his family. Such testimonies and many more are the things that make us wake up every morning. We believe in value addition…
